At ECO MKE, we believe that small, everyday choices can make a big difference. Our journey began with a simple yet powerful mission: to make sustainable living more accessible, convenient, and enjoyable for everyone in the Milwaukee community and beyond.
It all started when we became aware of the staggering amount of single-use plastic waste filling our landfills and oceans. Determined to be part of the solution, we envisioned a space where people could shop mindfully, reduce waste, and embrace a more sustainable lifestyle—without compromising on quality or convenience.
Our store was founded on the principles of sustainability, community, and transparency. We carefully curate high-quality, eco-friendly products that are ethically sourced, plastic-free, non-toxic, locally made, and designed to minimize environmental impact. From household essentials to personal care items, we have everything you need to live a more eco-conscious lifestyle.
But ECO MKE is more than just a shop—it’s a movement. We are passionate about educating and empowering our community, hosting workshops, collaborating with local makers, and sharing tips on waste reduction and conscious consumerism. About the Founder
Hi, I'm Kayla!
I began my deep dive into environmental sustainability in college. I was shocked by how much waste we create through living our daily lives, and how our actions as individuals can have profound effects on the planet. I was also surprised by how these wasteful products can have a huge impact on our health. It was then that I began to realize that the conventional ways of living aren't the best for our health or the planet.
I started making small changes and creating eco-friendly habits, and I watched my health and connection to nature transform. I began documenting my journey on Instagram, which gave me the chance to connect with and inspire others to be more eco-conscious. Then one day (kind of randomly and urgently lol), I had a dream to impact people in a different way other than just through social media, and I got the crazy idea to open a refill store right here in Milwaukee. And that's when the idea of ECO MKE was born. Now I get to help people make better choices and sustainable swaps every day online and in person!
I am forever grateful for this growing community and the connections I've made. It's an honor to be able to do what I love with all of you and I truly wouldn't be here without your support. (:
